After a long day at work I headed out the door eager to attend the next lesson on our writing course. The night's objective was to teach us how to use our voice to captivate our readers. We studies examples of academic writing and compared them to other pieces that used lots of personality. There was no doubt that those writing passages that contained a personal touch were far more interesting to read. I was really looking forwards to this particular class so that I could go back into my own work reflect on if I was able to do the same for my readers, and I am happy to say that I believe I have! With only a few more classes left we still have alot to cover and, and for me hopefully not as much revisions as I had thought before pursuing more publishers.
I have the privilege of being able to shape the minds and lives of children who are battling disabilities. It can be very trying at times, but more often than not it is very rewarding. As a mother of a child with a disability, I know the struggles that they go through on a daily basis. This allows me to have a little more compassion for the people that I work with.
